COURSE DESCRIPTION:  

This is Spanish I, so we will be speaking, reading, writing, listening, singing and presenting mostly in Spanish, as well as studying about the many cultures that speak Spanish as their official language.  In this course students develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish. It also increases students’ knowledge and appreciation of the diverse countries whose language they are learning. The objective is to provide students with strong language and cultural skills that lead to global competency, an essential component of success in the 21st century.

By the end of this course, students will have reached the Novice Mid language proficiency level as stated by ACTFL global competency standards.
